Schools

FAQ
What happens if the weather is awful?
Being based in Cheshire I've photographed many families (and newborns!) in the rain and we just embrace it! Dress for the weather ... umbrellas and wellies look great in photographs. If it's looking particularly unsavoury with high winds, ice or storms it will be much safer for everyone to reschedule.
What if I need to reschedule ..?
Appointments are limited and at busy times of year (especially October and November) it can be hard to find an alternative time slot but I will try my best to reschedule your shoot if we need to. Your shoot fee or deposit is valid for four months from your original appointment date.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Cheshire, UK. All shoot fees include travel within a 5 mile radius of Holmes Chapel, but please just get in touch if you’re further away as I can provide a quote for additional travel expenses.
When will we get our photos?
I aim to process your images and get them to you within two weeks (usually less). You will receive a link to a secure online gallery where you can view all your photos from the comfort of your home.
How many pictures will I receive?
It's hard to put a figure on this as every shoot is different but a headshot gallery will typically contain at least 20 images while a full family shoot could contain well over 100.
What do I wear to a photoshoot?
Just like in life there really are no rules on what you can or can't wear. If you want to wear a tiara and a tutu - please do! If your shoot is outdoors, dress for the weather ... wellies, sun hats, umbrellas, blankets all look great in photos. The best advice I can give is to avoid anything with a very bold pattern or large logos.
Can you photograph newborns as part of a family photoshoot?
Of course! They are exactly what make a family. I have photographed several newborns outdoors in the woods and at home. I don't offer photoshoots just for newborns posed with props etc. It's just not my style and I don't have the correct training for this.
How to I prepare my children for the photoshoot?
Every child is different, some love to have their photo taken and others shy away. I have photographed them all! It can help to show children this website and some examples of family photographs so they can see the results. Try to arrange your photoshoot for a time when they are less likely to be tired or hungry. Have snacks or a treat at the ready for afterwards. Bribery works wonders for my own children when I want to photograph them! Mini shoots are perfect for children with short attention spans as they last less than half an hour, though a full shoot may be better for those who need a little more time to relax.
Do you offer prints and digital files?
Yes to both. You can purchase either as well as various wall art options through your online gallery. If you choose to download digital files you can use any print lab of your choice. However, I highly recommend you use mine - the quality of the prints is amazing.
